Living and Working in Cairo

Cairo is one of the great cities of the world. It is steeped in history, being the centre of one of the great civilizations and cultures. There is always plenty to do - no matter what your interest including sport, music, theatre, cinema and socializing. There is a wide variety of inexpensive restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines. The opportunities for travel, exploration and adventure both within Egypt and in the Middle East and Africa are extensive. The climate is ideal with virtually no rainfall, low humidity and almost constant sunshine.

Travel to and from the UK is easy (flights are regular and take approximately 4.5 hours each way) and inexpensive (approximtely GBP300 return). Finally, of course, there are the Pyramids!

Remuneration Package

Requirements For All Teaching Posts at CES

Applicants will be required to have the following :

A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized and reputable university (possession of a Master's degree or PhD would be an additional advantage).
A Teaching Qualification (such as a PGCE from a British University).
At least 2 years of experience in a recognized and reputable school as a full-time teacher (not including supply, short-term or part-time teaching).
Experience in delivery of the English National Curriculum.

For those applying for posts in the Secondary School, experience in teaching GCSE, IGCSE, A Levels and IB Diploma would offer a distinct advantage

Experience overseas and in an international school would also be an advantage (the vast majority of appointees, however, have no such experience).

Vacancies

Cairo English School is seeking an Admissions Administrative Assistant.

The successful candidate will:

Serve as the initial contact person for the admissions office in person, by telephone and email.
Analyze the needs for each individual and follow through accordingly. Answer questions, provide forms, review and file paperwork and provide referrals to appropriate person or department.
Take walk in applicants and schedule interview and assessment appointments.
Conduct preliminary child assessments.
Conduct tours for prospective students and their families.
Assist with telephone and email follow up with applicants.
Perform other related tasks as required.
