Cairo English School is seeking to recruit the following positions:

 

For the 2026-2027 academic year:-

 

Teaching Assistant


The Teaching Assistant will:
- To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programs.
- To enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area for short periods of time.
- To provide general support to the class teacher in the management and organization of the pupils and the classroom
- To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
- To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
- Meet the expectations and fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teaching assistant, as set out in the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
- Promote good pupil behavior, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behavior.
- Establish and maintain constructive relationships with parents/carers by supporting their role in pupils’ learning, providing constructive feedback on pupils’ progress and achievements and facilitating their support for their child’s attendance;
- Support home to school/community links.
- Administer routine tests and invigilate exams and undertake routine marking of pupils’ work.
- Provide clerical/admin, support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, money, administer coursework etc.
- Work within an agreed system of supervision with small groups of children and take responsibility for their learning.
- Work in partnership with the teacher to support the school induction program. This may include contributing to parents evening as appropriate.

- Take part in the school’s performance management system.
- Attend professional development meetings on a regular basis.
- Strong commitment to furthering equalities in both service delivery and employment practice.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people that they are responsible for or come into contact with.

KS3-KS5 English Teacher for August 2026

Cairo English School is one of the premier British International Schools in Cairo, Egypt. We are an Early Years to Year 12 all-through school with over 2,000 students on roll.
