Sports
Sport is an essential aspect of the educational offering of Cairo English School. We believe participation in our sports program can serve as a crucial component for developing well-rounded individuals who display leadership qualities, tolerance, integrity and teamwork skills.
We also believe that our students should have the opportunity to learn and compete in a variety of sports. Although students will experience lots of different sports and activities through our regular Physical Education program, the CES sports program allows players to test themselves in a friendly yet competitive environment whilst playing against other school teams.
Students will have an opportunity to try out for each of our teams and if successful, will represent our school in a variety of competitions.
Team Falcons are split into age categories and each student's date of birth determines which category they compete in. The categories are:
- Under 11
- Under 13
- Under 16
- Under 18
Currently we have teams for football, basketball, swimming, netball, athletics and volleyball. We are competing in the New Cairo School Sports Partnership (NCSSP), where several schools compete against each other in a league format, as well as a tournament at the end of the season. We also compete in international BSME tournaments (British Schools of the Middle East).
Adhering to the league format, Team Falcons play our sports in seasons. The seasonal format allows our students to compete in more than one sport, which we believe is essential for their growth. The seasons are:
September - December
- U11 Basketball
- U13 Football
- U13 Netball
- U16 Basketball
- U18 Football
- U18 Volleyball
- Athletics (U11, U13)
- Swimming (under 9, 11, 13, 16, 18)
January - May

Team Falcons training sessions will be held after school on our superb facilities. Training is typically 3-5pm, however the training days may change due to fixtures. Therefore it is essential that each player checks with their coach, Showbie, the sports notice board, or under the schedule tab here on the website so that they know when to attend training.
